How old is Spire Inc.?

The Laclede Gas Light Company was created by a special act of the General Assembly of the State of Missouri in 1857. In 1950, the name of the company was changed to Laclede Gas Company. In January 2001, the shareholders of Laclede Gas Company approved the formation of a holding company and, effective October 1, 2001, The Laclede Group, Inc. became the holding company for Laclede Gas Company. On April 28, 2016 shareholders approved changing the company name to Spire Inc. to better reflect the national presence of the company.

What do I do with my certificates for The Laclede Group common stock?

Your rights as a shareholder holding outstanding stock certificates and the number of shares represented by those certificates will remain unchanged. The name change to Spire will not affect the validity or transferability of your stock certificates nor will it be necessary for you to surrender any stock certificates. All new stock certificates issued by the Company will bear the name Spire Inc. If you have any questions regarding your certificates or shares you hold in book-entry form through the direct registration system, please contact our transfer agent, Computershare.
